School teacher Jeff Carter (Donald Curtis) spends his spare time running a social club for teenage boys. His efforts are undermined by the arrival of Danny Jones (William Halop), a flashy troublemaker who involves others, including Doris Martin (Ann E. Todd), Willy Miller (Scotty Beckett) and Leo Emerson (Darryl Hickman), in petty criminal activities. Things come to a head when Leo informs Jeff about a planned raid on a warehouse. Carter intercepts the robbery, but in the process he is shot and killed by Danny. At the trial, it is revealed that Danny was raised in the same orphanage as Connie Burns (Anabel Shaw), the daughter of District Attorney Edgar Burns (Richard Gaines). She was born after her parents’ separation and Burns only learned of her existence when contacted by a nurse at the orphanage. What is not known, however, is that the nurse was lying. She felt sorry for Connie, who was sick and hoped that Burns would provide her with better surroundings. In truth, the D.A.’s child is Danny! The nurse informs Danny of this, but, convicted and sentenced to jail, he decided to keep the secret to himself.
