News Entry: Whitney Houston is confirmed dead at age 48. At approximately 5pm PST her publicist confirmed the singer had passed away. Details are not clear as to the cause of death. At this point all that is known is she was staying at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in California. Whitney Houston had battled drug addiction for years and in 2009 had attempted a comeback with the release of the album "I Look To You." A member of her entourage apparently found her unresponsive in her hotel room. Paramedics were called and fire rescue was already on scene for an unrelated incident.
