This slapstick sitcom centered on two sisters with very different personalities living together in an apartment on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Sixteen-year-old Holly had moved in with her 28-year-old sister Valerie when their father took a job in Japan. Impulsive Holly was full of energy and enthusiasm and loved being the Big Apple. Val, a public relations executive with the firm of Harper & Diggs, was uptight and regimented and needed her kid sister’s help to loosen up.
For over half of the first season, Jennie Garth was pregnant. Most of her scenes only showed the top half of her or showed her sitting down, behind a couch, etc.
Stars Amanda Bynes and Jennie Garth share a birthday. Jennie Garth was born April 3, 1972 and Amanda Bynes was born April 3, 1986.

Unremarkable sitcom may to appeal to tweens.
Parents need to know that by and large, this show is a cute, unremarkable sitcom that is likely to appeal to tweens, especially girls. Some objectionable situations come up, in particular Val's affair with her former boss. In a drunken impetuous trip to Atlantic City, they get married. The consequences of their actions are yet to be determined. In addition, Holly and Vince consider having sex. And despite the loveable natures of the characters, females on the show are portrayed as ditzy and boy-crazy. Reviewed by: Common Sense Media.
