Farrah Fawcett,Kate Jackson,Jaclyn Smith Farrah Fawcett Farrah Fawcett Famous Bathing Suit Poster

Farrah Fawcett became big, and quickly, on the small screen. When the television series Charlie's Angels debuted in 1976, she, as the sexiest of three gorgeous female private eyes, was transformed overnight from just another Texas farm-fed beauty into a superstar. In this period she was known for two things: the TV show, and the poster. The red-bathing-suit shot - which sold perhaps 10 million copies worldwide, made a lot of money for Fawcett (who retained rights to the image) and launched a million imitation hairstyles in addition to many millions of adolescent fantasies - is the only pinup to rival Marilyn Monroe's nude and Betty Grable's leggy come-on.

Fawcett later garnered critical acclaim for dramatic television and feature film roles, and then she got sick. Her final years were strange as they played out in public through television shows. But the response to these programs served to confirm the allegiance of her multitudinous fans. The documentary Farrah's Story, which won her a posthumous Emmy nomination as producer, was watched by nearly nine million people when it first aired on NBC in the spring of 2009. A little over a month after it was broadcast, Fawcett passed away.

Patrick Swayze was well into his fifties when he died, and Farrah Fawcett was 62 when she too succumbed to cancer. How can it be that they were gone "too soon"?

The determination relies on the fact that the public made eminently clear that it wanted more time with these two people. The lamentation that attended their deaths was not dis-similar to that associated with the passing of the gods and goddesses of Hollywood's golden era. There's no telling how much larger and more prolonged the mourning for Fawcett might have been, had not Michael Jackson perished on the very same day.

The reason that the all-American boy prefers beauty to brains is that he can see better than he can think.
