Scantily Clad Drew Barrymore Drew Barrymore Sitting Pretty Drew Barrymore Wearing Pink Hat Drew Barrymore Cute With Short Hair

Drew Blyth Barrymore is heiress to an acting dynasty dating back more than 150 years, and her father is the late legendary actor John Drew Barrymore. Her godfather is director Steven Spielberg, and her godmother Italian actress Sophia Loren. She made her film debut in Altered States (1980), but achieved prominence as the wide-eyed little sister in her godfather's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial (1982). With this pedigree behind her, she became the youngest person ever to host the TV variety show Saturday Night Live (1982), performing a sketch where she killed the alien E.T. Barrymore also starred in the Stephen King adaptations Firestarter (1984) and Cat's Eye (1985) before her tenth birthday.

A troubled adolescence, reflected in the TV movie 15 and Getting Straight (1989), seemed to file her with many child stars who foundered in later life. And in her autobiography, Little Girl Lost (1990), she reveals how she had an alcohol and drug habit while only a young teenager. But in her mid-teens, she took interesting roles as junior sociopaths in Katt Shea's Poison Ivy (1992) and Tamra Davis's Guncrazy (1992). Emerging as an adventurous actress, a blonde pinup, and full-grown star, she accomplished solid work in ensemble efforts such as Bad Girls (1994), Boys on the Side (1995), Batman Forever (1995), Everyone Says I Love You (1996), and memorably as the opening victim in the horror movie Scream (1996).

As she has matured, Barrymore has astutely alternated working on awards bids, such as Riding in Cars with Boys (2001), with populist romantic comedy leads, such as The Wedding Singer (1998) and Music and Lyrics (2007). She has also produced her own vehicles, including Never Been Kissed (1999), Charlie's Angels (2000), and Donnie Darko (2001).

In the end, some of your greatest pains become your greatest strengths.

Her godmothers are Sophia Loren and Anna Strasberg.

As a child, she auditioned for the role of Carol Ann in Poltergeist (1982).

Was offered the leading part of Nomi Malone in Showgirls (1995), but turned it down

She is allergic to garlic, bee stings, perfume and coffee.

At fifteen years old, Drew Barrymore legally emancipated herself from her parents. In 2009, she told 60 Minutes that she had first learned such a thing was possible from starring in Irreconcilable Differences six years earlier.
