Bad Teacher is an upcoming 2011 comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan, starring Cameron Diaz and Justin Timberlake with Molly Shannon, Eric Stonestreet, Jason Segel and iCarly's Noah Munck in supporting roles. The film is currently in post-production and will be released on June 24, 2011 in the United States. The film has been assigned an R rating by the MPAA.
The film follows foul-mouthed, money hungry, recently single teacher Elizabeth Halsey (Cameron Diaz), who is at odds with her colleague Amy (Lucy Punch). Amy happens to be dating the cute new substitute teacher, Scott (Justin Timberlake), whom Elizabeth has a crush on. When she finds out that his previous girlfriend was very well-endowed, she resolves to raise money to get breast implants in order to attract Scott's attention. She is later told by another colleague that the teacher with the highest class average gets an extra bonus. Her biggest competitor is, of course, Amy.
REVIEWS
Ms. Diaz has found her down-and-dirty element in the kind of broad comedy that threatens to get ugly and more or less succeeds on that threat. Reviewed by: Manohla Dargis of The New York Times.
Timberlake is not afraid to make himself look like an idiot. He is, in fact, already the comic actor Diaz may yet become: a looker who knows how to use his looks to get away with murder. Reviewed by: Maichael Phillips of The Chicago Tribune.
Of these characters, the rival played by Lucy Punch is the most colorful, because she's the most driven and obsessed. The others seem curiously inconsequential, content to materialize in a scene, perform a necessary function and vaporize. Reviewed by: Roger Ebert of The Chicago Sun-Times.
